After I helped guide Johnny Morris on a world record 8 foot 3 inch gar in my fathers PRIVATE lake
that I learned how lucky I was And how rare the alligator gar really is. In 2007 I started guiding bow
fishing trips for the public and landed the show River Monsters. It wasn't tell then that I made the full
transition to catch and release Alligator gar fishing trips. And was able to fine tune my bow fishing
skills into a world class alligator gar FISHING guide. My experience and river skills of navigating the
back woods of the Trinity River have payed of in the success of providing SAFE fishing trips in most
remote location in Texas. I would describe where I fish as the closest jungle you can drive to. I cant
stress enough how important it is when going out on a gar fishing trip on the Trinity river that you
choose a seasoned guide that knows where to fish like the back of hand. There is so much that can
go wrong and you don't want it to happen with some one that cant adapt to the situation or have the
experience on the river to SAFELY guide you.

I grew up on the banks of the Trinity river
fishing catfish and hunting with my dad. I
was always fascinated with the huge gar I
would see surfacing . I wanted to catch one
of those big fish so bad but couldn't ever
figure it out. It wasn't tell was a teenager
that the sport of bow fishing got popular
and I soon learned by trial and error how to
successfully hunt the giant gar. I studied
there movement activities and behaviour in
order to be a better gar hunter.
